Transportation to/from Fairmont Dallas (Convention Hotel)

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) - Shuttle Service

YJA will be sponsoring a free, round-trip shuttle (supervised by Adult Volunteers from the JSNT Sangh) to and from the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport on both Thursday, July 2 between 12 PM and 8 PM and Sunday, July 5 between 8 AM and 2 PM. Given the presence of 100% adult supervision from attendee arrival at DFW to arrival at the Fairmont Hotel, we recommend that all attendees (especially those under 18) book transportation through DFW airport only, if possible.

NOTE: Shuttle service will ONLY be provided to/from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) Airport. There will be no shuttle to/from Dallas Love Field (DAL). Please see below for directions on how to get to the hotel from Dallas Love Field.

Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL) - Subsidized Rideshare

YJA is excited to provide subsidized transportation to and from Dallas Love Field Airport on both Thursday, July 2 and Sunday, July 5 through a partnership with Lyft. More specifically, attendees will travel in groups to and from DAL airport, using a discount code that will subsidize the cost of their transportation. However, due to resource constraints, we are not able to provide complete adult supervision of all travel and transport through DAL. For this reason, we strongly recommend that all attendees, in particular minors under the age of 18, choose to not utilize DAL for their transportation needs.

Please keep an eye out for additional updates regarding more detailed transportation logistics for both airports. In the meantime, feel free to reach out to transportation.dtx@yja.org with any questions. Thanks!

Tips for Finding the Cheapest Flight

  1. Only book flights to DFW or DAL. No transportation will be provided from any other airport.
  2. Keep in mind that YJA will not provide overnight accommodations until the first day of Convention (Thursday, July 2nd).
  3. Travel in a group! Talk to a travel agent about having members of your sangh travel back and forth together. It makes the travel much more fun, and you may be able to receive a group discount from the airline!
  4. Book 6 weeks in advance. Statistically, 47 days is the golden number to book in advance.
  5. Booking your flight on Tuesdays at 3 p.m. has been shown to result in the lowest price for the airfare.
  6. Search for flights on Chrome using “InCognito mode” (or inPrivate Mode for Internet Explorer). This prevents your search history from affecting the price of flights you find.
  7. Using a website like Yapta.com will allow you to be alerted if your flight’s price falls.
  8. Prices fluctuate! Call the airline the next day after booking to see if you can rebook without a penalty if your flight price fell.
  9. Fly two different airlines. Some airlines sell one-way flights at reasonable prices, so one airline might work better for the outbound flight while the other works better for the return.
  10. If you are planning on coming to Dallas early to see family or sightsee, come in on Wednesday. Typically, flights that fly on Wednesdays are cheaper than any other day of the week.
  11. Search for flight rates on multiple sites (Expedia, Travelocity, and Orbitz) for the best deal.
  12. Too busy to search for the best deals? Let AirfareWatchdog.com alert you to keep you updated with the cheapest flights!
  13. Avoid penalty fees by indicating online that you intend to check-in bags. Know your airline’s policy on fees for carry-on bags, seat assignments, printing a boarding pass.
